Compare and Contrast Operating Systems

Let's do some research.  Using the Internet find information about the different types of operating systems that are available.  We have studied primarily about the Windows 8 operating system.  However, there are older versions of Windows available as well as an operating system for the Apple computer line called Macintosh OS.  Linux has an operating as well. 

With this assignment you are to research these many operating systems.  Compare and contrast the operating systems.  What similarities do you find amongst all of these OSs?  What differences do you see amongst all of these OSs?  Why do you believe some of the OSs are more popular than others?

Write your findings in a Word document.  Be sure to use good spelling, punctuation, and grammar.  Write in complete sentences in paragraph form.  Feel free to create a chart or table to assist you with explaining your thought processes.  When you are finished with the compare/contrast assignment, save your Word document in the appropriate place on the network.  You will then upload your final document using the Submit Assignment link to the right.
