- Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
Background Information:
Due to the easy access of social media websites, cybercrimes related to the pressure caused by social media are increasing. For example, social media notifications have created an unrealistic perception of social acceptance. Students determine popularity or validation based on the number of “likes” received on photos posted on Instagram, which only fuels the desire to stay connected 24/7.
You are a cyber-detective in the police department’s cyber unit. Based on your experience with social media, the police chief has given you the task of developing a campaign to teach students about the appropriate use, dangers, and/or illegal aspects of social media. You and a fellow detective will create a public service announcement (PSA) to teach 6th graders about social media. Use the following guidelines and resources to plan and create the PSA. Your PSA will be shown to 6th grade students in various schools. The students will complete an evaluation at the end of the PSA. The police chief will review the evaluations and, based on the results, he will select the most effective PSA to be featured on the police department’s website.
