This course is a first of its kind for high school in the U.S. as far as I know. First, it is technical mathematics, and I have not been able to find another high school technical mathematics course in the U.S. I have found only college technical mathematics courses. Second, it is an online course. The only other online courses for high school that I have found are offered by universities or private organizations. The is the only online course for high school students provided by a public school system that I am aware of. If you put technical mathematics online for public high school all together, I think we are the first!

This is also probably the first math course in which you've had to read, explain, and revise your work as much as you are doing.This course is designed to teach students how to THINK through the types of mathematical problems that are faced in the workplace. When you can think through problems, you can solve even new types of problems. That is what employers and customers are looking for--someone who can face a new problem and think through it to come up with a solution. Many times employers or customers need solutions explained. And many times, mistakes are made while solving problems, and the mistakes have to be corrected. This course teaches the important workplace skills like thinking, problem-solving, explaining, and revising.
