Read the documents below. Then choose ONE scenario (listed below) and answer the questions. You can choose any of the four scenarios listed below
Scenario I
Suppose you are a sales clerk in a store and some of your friends want you to let them shoplift.
1. If you refused to let them shoplift, would that mean you are less of a friend to them? Explain your answer
.2. If they shoplift, even after you told them not to do it, what would you do?
3. If you allow your friends to shoplift, how would this affect the store and possibly you?
4. Many people steal or take things since they can’t afford to buy it. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your answer.
Scenario II:
You are a new employee in the Electronics Department, (where you can purchase CD’s, DVD’s, Games, TV’s, Etc.), and you have to work/deal with customer issues.
1. What do you think the saying “the customer is always right” really means?
2. Do you agree or disagree with this saying? Explain your answer
.3. What should you do if you think the customer is wrong?
4. What is the best way to handle a customer who talks to you in a very nasty tone and with a terrible attitude?5. Is it your duty to sell the customer the most expensive item in the store? Explain your answer.
Scenario III
:You are a new employee in the warehouse and think your salary is too low, your supervisor (boss) is telling you to steal merchandise, and you cannot afford to lose your job for not doing what he/she says. You are having problems at home too.
1. Is it okay for you to deal with your personal problems while you are at work?
2. Could you give a good reason for stealing from the company?
3. Do you think it is okay to goof off at work because you are being paid less than you think you deserve?
4. What responsibility you have to your supervisor (boss) that instructs you to do something unethical or illegal?
5. How does a negative (bad) attitude affect other people in the workplace? Explain your answer.
Scenario IV:
You are the host (greet people) at a popular restaurant. The waiting list is 30 minutes long. A customer offers you $20 to seat him and his friends next.
1. Would it be ethical (right) to accept the offer? Explain your answer
