Using the attached list, choose two professional organizations to research.  You will need to find information for writing and presenting to the class.  Use the following as your outline.  However, feel free to add information that is relevant.

  1. What are the organization's goals, mission, and objectives?
  2. What are the steps to becoming a member?  How much does it cost to become a member?
  3. Does the organization have benefits for joining?
  4. When, where, and how often are the meetings?
  5. Does the organization have any professional publications?  If so, how often are the publications released?
  6. What are the educational standards of the group?
  7. What professional and leadership opportunities does the organization have?
  8. What are other information have you found that is interesting?

After you have located the above information for each of your two organizations, write a one-page or more summary of your findings. Be sure to use good spelling, punctuation, and grammar.  All work should be written using complete sentences in paragraph form.

You will give a presentation to the class regarding your investigation.  This presentation will require you to dress and speak professionally.  Be sure the presentation lasts at least five minutes and that you are prepared to answer questions regarding your professional organization.
