Course Syllabus
Welcome to Cyber Foundations 1!
This class is a year long prerequistie to Cyber Foundations 2. Cyber Foundations I is an innovative instructional program that prepares students to effectively use technology in learning, communication, life, and introduces them to the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills used in computing which is impacting every career field.
Students in Cyber Foundations I complete study in interpersonal and self-directional skills, basic technology operation, technology concepts, ethical issues in technology, keyboarding, technology communication tools, technology resource tools, multimedia presentation applications, word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, problem solving, web development, and block based programming. In doing so you will participate in a vareity of assignments that inlcude, but are not limited to, discussions, watching videos, creating videos, writings, documents, typing simulations, coding, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing.

By the end of this course, you will be able to do the following:
- Investigate social and ethical issues related to digital citizenship and social media.
- Interact with teachers, peers, and course material using a learning management system.
- Identify leadership and personal development styles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of 21st century skills.
- Explore careers in each of the 16 national career clusters.
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic keyboarding information.
- Perform keyboarding applications.
- Perform desktop publishing applications.
- Demonstrate an understanding of spreadsheet applications.
- Apply strategies to monitor income and expenses and plan for spending and save for future goals.
- Create multimedia presentations.
- Demonstrate problem solving using computers and logic.
- Apply strategies to create websites using HTML and CSS.
- Demonstrate fundamental programming constructs and practices in Java Script while developing animations and games.
